To set up email on your Samsung Galaxy J5 (2017) you will need:

  • An email account at an internet or email provider.
  • Login details of the incoming and outgoing mail servers.

  • Go to the Start screen.
  • To open the menu, swipe up or down on the screen.

  • Choose Samsung.

  • Choose Email.

  • If this screen appears, choose the list symbol. Choose the settings symbol and then Add account.
  • If this screen does not appear, go to the next step.

  • Choose Email address and enter your email address
  • Choose Password and enter the password of your email account

  • Choose MANUAL SETUP.

  • Choose IMAP account.

  • Under Email address, enter your email address
  • Under Username, enter the username of your email account
  • Under Password, enter the password of your email account

  • Scroll down.
  • Under IMAP server, enter imap.proximus.be
  • Under Security type, choose SSL.
  • Under Port, enter 993

  • Under SMTP server, enter relay.proximus.be
  • Under Security type, choose STARTTSL (or TSL).
  • Under Port, enter 587

  • If Authentication required before sending emails is disabled, enable Authentication required before sending emails.
  • If Authentication required before sending emails is enabled, go to the next step.

  • Under User name, enter the username of your email account
  • Under Password, enter the password of your email account

  • Choose SIGN IN.
  • The information will be verified.
  • If an error message is displayed, verify the settings and choose SIGN IN.

  • The e-mail account has been configured and is ready for use.
  • Return to the Start screen.

  • Start screen.
  • Switch off the Samsung Galaxy J5 (2017) and restart it in order to activate the settings.
  • E-mail setup successful? Proceed with sending e-mails.
